Purple Punch at Greenleaf Wellness - Sparks, NV
Purple Punch is a heavy-indica dessert hybrid - a Granddaddy Purple × Larry OG cross released in California around 2016 by Supernova Gardens. The chemovar produces deep purple flowers and a grape-Kool-Aid-vanilla aroma that's become a benchmark for the "purple sweet" cultivar category. We rotate Purple Punch at Greenleaf Wellness regularly; check the shop page and flower hub for current cultivator and pricing.

Lineage and history
Purple Punch parents: Granddaddy Purple (the founding California purple cultivar from Ken Estes, 2003) crossed with Larry OG (an OG Kush phenotype). Bred by Supernova Gardens in Northern California around 2015–16. The chemovar was a near-instant commercial success because it stacked the visual appeal of GDP (deep-purple flower color) with the resin production and aroma intensity of the OG family.
Terpene profile and effect mechanism
Effect arc
Onset 5–10 minutes from inhalation. The first 10 minutes is mood-bright lift; mid-arc 30–60 minutes settles into body-heavy relaxation; tail 90 minutes drifts toward sleepy. Slower-onset than the GDP parent - meaning the effect has a more gradual sedative ramp rather than a sudden body-heavy crash.
Forms we stock
Flower - eighths and grams. Flower hub.
Pre-rolls - 1g and 0.5g. Pre-rolls page.
Live resin and rosin vapes - Purple Punch's farnesene-driven aroma demands live extraction. Vape hub.
Edibles - Purple Punch flavor gummies are common. See edibles dosing chart for portioning.
Best for
Evening unwind, wine replacement, dessert pairing, sleep aid for users who don't want the full GDP couch-lock. Recommended for consumers who like fruit-aroma cultivars and a slow-onset indica arc. See terpenes guide for context.
