Headband at Greenleaf Wellness - Sparks, NV

Headband is an indica-leaning hybrid named for its signature pressure-around-the-temples sensation - a mild, characteristic feeling that long-time consumers describe as "a soft elastic band across the forehead." It's a Sour Diesel × OG Kush cross developed in California in the early 2000s, and it remains one of the best-selling hybrid chemovars in the Reno-Sparks metro because it threads the needle between heavy-indica sedation and high-sativa anxiety. Find current Headband stock at the shop page and the flower hub.

Lineage and history

Headband's parents are credited as Sour Diesel (sativa-leaning, NYC origin) crossed with OG Kush - both giants of the early-2000s California cannabis market. The cross was first stabilized by Reserva Privada / DNA Genetics around 2005–2008. Most modern Headband flowers descend from the 707 Headband pheno (Humboldt-area selection) or the Reserva Privada line.

Effect arc

Effect arc

Onset 5–10 minutes from inhalation. Mild head-pressure and heightened sensory awareness in the first 10 minutes; mid-arc 30–60 minutes is body-relaxed but mentally engaged - the classic "couch-comfortable but you can hold a conversation" effect; tail 120 minutes settles toward sleepy. A go-to evening hybrid that doesn't pin you to the couch immediately.

05 · Best for

Best for

Evening unwind, dinner, low-key social activities, replacing alcohol after a long workday. The signature head-pressure is part of the appeal for some consumers and a deal-breaker for others - try a single inhalation first if you're sensitive to head sensations. See indica vs sativa for context.
