GSC (Girl Scout Cookies) - The Founding Cookie-Family Hybrid
GSC, originally Girl Scout Cookies and renamed for trademark reasons, is the foundational cultivar of the modern "Cookies" genetic line. Bred in the San Francisco Bay Area around 2010 by the Cookie Family collective, GSC is a hybrid (~60I/40S) cross of OG Kush and an F1 Durban Poison clone that produced multiple stable phenotypes including Forum, Thin Mint, Platinum, and Animal. It is the parent or grandparent of Gelato, Wedding Cake, Sunset Sherbet, and most of the dessert-leaning shelf you see today.

TL;DR
GSC is a hybrid (60% indica / 40% sativa). THC typically 20–28%, CBD under 0.5%. Dominant terpenes: caryophyllene, limonene, humulene. Effects lean evening: mild head buzz, full body relaxation, hunger, social-then-sleepy arc over a couple of hours. Flower, pre-rolls, vape carts, and concentrate at Greenleaf Wellness in Sparks NV.
Lineage and history
OG Kush crossed with an F1 Durban Poison clone, stabilized in San Francisco circa 2010 by the Cookie Family / Berner / Jigga circle. The strain reached cult status through 2010–2014 California medical menus and was renamed GSC after the Girl Scouts of America trademark dispute in 2017. Forum Cookies, Thin Mint Cookies, Platinum Cookies, and Animal Cookies are the four most documented stable phenotypes; subsequent breeders crossed Forum and Thin Mint with everything in sight, which produced the modern dessert lineage including Gelato (Sunset Sherbet x Thin Mint GSC), Wedding Cake (Triangle Kush x Animal Mints), and Sunset Sherbet (GSC x Pink Panties).
Cannabinoid profile
THC commonly 20–28%, with Platinum phenotype occasionally cresting 30%. CBD under 0.5%. The strain produces measurable CBN at jar-cure month two, which contributes to the slightly heavier landing GSC gets compared to younger flower of the same chemovar.
Terpene profile
Effect profile
Onset 5–15 minutes inhaled. Peak 30–60 minutes. Duration 2–3 hours. Reported effects: gentle euphoria first, body warmth and limb-heaviness second, hunger middle, drowsiness back half. New users often miscalibrate because the head buzz arrives before the body buzz; one or two pulls first, wait fifteen minutes, then decide on a third.
Phenotypes you may see on shelf
Your jar will say which pheno; if it does not, ask the budtender.
- Thin Mint GSC - minty edge, more euphoric, Gelato's parent
- Forum Cookies - sweetest phenotype, used as the standard
- Platinum Cookies - heaviest, highest THC, evening-only
- Animal Cookies - purple-leaning, parent of Animal Mints and downstream of Wedding Cake

- 02
Anyone exploring the dessert lineage who wants to taste the original.
- 03
Users hunting caryophyllene with myrcene support for body-without-knockout.
- 04
Not the first pick for early-day or focus-required tasks.
Forms we stock
Flower jars (eighth, quarter, half, ounce), pre-rolls (single + pack + infused), 510-thread distillate and live-resin carts, disposable pens, live-resin and live-rosin concentrates. Phenotype rotates with cultivator availability; Forum and Thin Mint are most common. Check the live menu for today's stock.
Dosing
Inhaled: one or two pulls, wait 10–15 minutes. Edibles infused with GSC extract follow the standard 5 mg start. Higher THC range means a smaller initial pull than a 15% cultivar, especially because the body component lags the head component.
