Company history
PAX Labs was founded in San Francisco in 2007 (originally Ploom). The PAX 1 dry-herb vaporizer launched in 2012 and built reputation in the legal-cannabis-curious / luxury-tech crossover market. PAX spun off from JUUL in 2017 (PAX kept the cannabis hardware focus; JUUL kept nicotine). The PAX Era pod system launched in 2016, becoming a defining design in the closed-system pod-vape category. PAX Era pods on Nevada shelves are filled by NV-licensed cultivators using PAX-spec cannabis oil and the PAX-spec pod hardware.
